Remember hearing about so-called "God Packs" where the person telling the story SWORE that he knew a guy who knew a dude who opened a booster and every card in the pack was rare?

It appears Wizards has decided to have some fun with us- there are reports coming in of God packs - literally a pack of Journey into Nyx where all 15 cards at Theros-block gods.

I dismissed the reports as a poor pun at first, but I have seen multiple reports and it seems like it's true.

Here is a picture snapped at Games Laboratory in Australia.

Here is a sighting from Ongkeco's Hobby Shop in Manila (that's in the Philippines and their main export is office supplies)

TCG Player posted this pic.

How about you? Anyone strike it rich at their prerelease?

Fun fact - all 15 gods in play at the same time will turn each other on and all be creatures. With Xenagos keeping the wine flowing and a pantheon of immortals in peak physical condition turning each other on, you probably should knock first before entering.

  1. Yeah I couldn’t believe it when I heard that myself. Went to a sealed event last night, walked out with the white and black sealed sets, after 3 days of tourneys the shop didn’t see a god pack and only 1 Ajani was pulled. I walked away with 2 Athreos, God of the Passage. Hope to see one of these god packs for myself post release.

  2. It is true, I started opening all my remaining prerelease packs (I own a store in NJ) and on one of my last boxes I got a God Pack. Wizards customer support told me they are doing this for fun and it is not some kind of mistake. It was amazing!

  3. Went to the Friday night pre-release at my LGS and sat across from a buddy and watched as he cracked the god pack. As happy as I was for him, a part of me was crap, one box away. We both had chosen white and he got the box before me. Lol.

The best part was, as word spread, the whole pre-release literally stopped while everyone got a look at the pack and asked questions. The store took pics, etc. and then everyone went back to building their decks.

The only downside, he didn’t fair very well in the tourney. Lol.

  4. while unfortunately no one cracked a god pack there was one guy who said if he cracked it he would walk up and down the length of the store with his pants down chanting i win i win i win

  5. I bought a single pack when i saw the new Nyx oacks in walmart and threw it on my desk when i got home, i wanted to wait and shoe my son the new packs. when my son got home from school that night he had stopped by walmart and bought a pack too. we opened them together and I got a GOD pack, how cool was that!! My son freaked out and then begged me for Thassa God of the sea for his deck.

  6. Haha, I know the guy in the background of the Games Laboratory picture. He’s in there 90% of the time as far as I can tell so that’s not surprising 🙂

    1. This is a way late response and I have no idea if you will even see this but I would advise you to not game at that store anymore as whoever was running that event cheated you out of your rightful God pack and we can all agree that that’s a dick move. From what I understand WoTC stated that if a God pack were to be pulled in a draft format that you are supposed to be able to keep those cards. And all that aside it is legal to drop after opening your pack, allowing you to keep the God pack you got if you chose to do that.

  7. Yeah me and a buddy but the last of our shops jou sealed decks every Wednesday and in my sealed deck on my first jou pack I opened the god pack! It was a very awesome experience!

  8. God pack confirmed. Me and my friends just started busting some packs. there it was, 15 gods. I said bullshit, its not possible you switched out the pack. He swore he didn’t. so i looked into it, and its possible. And my friend, lucky weasel, can say he busted a God pack.

  9. I was at H.Roe Bartle boy scout summer camp and everyone there was obsessed with magic so I decided to buy an intro pack and on other booster pack. The booster pack had all 15 gods and I was freaking out! For the next 3 days everybody followed me around begging for one
