This has been making the rounds on the internet, and it's pretty funny.
The video, in classic "Downfall parody style" uses English subtitles to tell a story irrespective of the actual dialogue that English speakers won't understand. It's a tale about out-of-touch Wizards policies regarding Modern. I wouldn't watch it at work, necessarily, but when you get a chance to enjoy this in a non-work environment, you'll get a kick out of it. I don't agree with all of the conclusions the creator came to, but the laughter is infectious. You'll see. Enjoy!
How much do we agree with what the video says about Jace being too good to be unbanned?
I’m trying to think how many Modern decks would not be perturbed by a player tapping out for Jace on turn 4, which would basically be game over against Burn, Twin or Affinity.
ok, Jace is unbanned with the release of DTK, then printed in MM2.
But, for serious, what a great video.
Unbanning Jace might be too much. How about we get like Fact or Fiction and Counterspell first? If they doesn’t work then maybe Jace?
I think the best way to find out is to unban Jace and find out….I can’t see fuckin up modern moreso….it not clear Jace would ‘make’ control viable….maybe if Rhino got that axe it could shift it enough to make it ‘unbearable’?…it a long road to to get there with a 4mana plane walker without some hard counters and decent card draw/selection engine.. or is it?
Either way the Video is hilarious about Tibilt, making MM2 irrelevant, and New Jace with (4) + ablities=all mill no draw!
I’ve been saying for a while now they just need to print “Counterspell” How damn hard is it to do that?
Counterspell would be very, very good. Roughly on par with Thoughtseize or Lightning Bolt in terms of shaping what is and is not viable in the format.
