Everyone, sorry I've been a bit light on the comments, I'm busy in the lab developing some pretty hot tech for GPCbus.

The content and tone are so different from what you find over and over again elsewhere (if I read another article about Primeval Titan Ramp I'm going to hang myself). So, I want to say thanks to you and the other writers at DS for making my day a little shorter.

Krosen Grip would work if you are playing green. But Trickbind would work too if you are playing blue. So there are different avenues a player can play. Trickbind states that:

Counter target activated or triggered ability. If a permanent's ability is countered this way, activated abilities of that permanent can't be activated this turn.

So it makes it so that it can not be used again during the same turn.

You either show them an online price and they change their price, or they don't. A store that's Magic-centric (like mine) realizes that card values can change with the wind, but the other stores don't quite get that. You may just not have an opportunity in your area, which sucks but is a common issue.

Like I said in my other comment, don't forget you can trade with stores. Most stores give at least 1/4 to 1/2 of stickered value in store credit. For example, a store in my town refused to put even the crappiest rares below $4, especially with a new set. So, after the Release of a set, I would trade in every single crappy rare I got from the events that I wasn't able to trade away to other players for $2 store credit a piece. Then I used the store credit to "buy" a few "correctly" priced higher dollar cards. By "correctly" I mean they were pretty close to online stores' prices.

The owner of that store didn't mind, because people were actually buying these crap rares for $4 a piece. In fact, he saw me as the "restocker" since they would only open one case for their own stock, and literally run out of almost everything about a week after the Release was over.

The main thing to remember here is that even if someone is seriously overvaluing their own stuff, they will probably overvalue your stuff as well. And the highest chase cards are rarely overvalued by much, at least in percentage.

If you try to Disenchant either piece at any time, the combo player can respond by discarding another card and continuing to go off with your Disenchant still on the stack. Trickbind is similar, even though it gets to resolve before the combo player just shrugs, discards another card and continues on. If you're playing enough of these hate cards, sure, they'll eventually run out of cards in their hand to "counter" with. Or you could just play Krosan Grip. Krosan Grip can be acquired for $1 a piece easily. I don't know how much more expensive a relatively recent uncommon that is only played in Legacy can get, though.

In regards to the rest of the article, you forgot to mention one thing: don't forget to try and trade with these "dusty old stores". Seriously, if you're calling ahead, you might as well ask if they particularly need anything. They might offer you $10 trade credit for Mirari or something really random that happens to be popular with the players that frequent said store.

I would also like to point out that there is a combo stopper for the Mind Over Matter/Temple Bell combo. It is Trickbind and Disenchant. If somebody is using the MoM/TB combo you will be guaranteed to get Trickbind and Disenchant in your hand. You will be able to put a stop to the combo at any time for the rest of the turn. Then get rid of the offending artifact or enchantment. I think Trickbind should be looked into as well.
