When I said, “I don’t believe in rares.” It was my way of demonstrating the trend of mythic rares lowing the price of chase rares. The exceptions to the rule were cards that see play in multiple formats and Maelstrom Pulse which was a cornerstone of Jund and the sheer demand drove the price of this card. Not to mention that it has seen marginal play in Extended, Legacy and EDH.

Fauna Shaman may see play in Extended and Legacy, which means that the, “I don’t believe in rares.” rule may not apply.

Furthermore, M11 has really pushed the envelope with the selection of rares. I am suspicious that this may mark a shifting of the paradigm and this could mean that “chase” rares may return from the dead to reclaim their price tags from mythic rares. I will be watching the market closely and keep the readers of DS informed.

Minor fix: You have the Onslaught uncommon Overwhelming Instinct instead of the M11 rare Overwhelming Stampede. 🙂

Overwhelming Instinct is an uncommon from Onslaught. The card you meant to say is Overwhelming Stampede. Just thought I'd point that out. Love the site, by the way!
