That's insanely low. So far that makes a trend with these decks. One's price is up there, while the other's is quite low.

Sweet! Didn't really expect that. Just proves the point, there's nothing to lose by making a call.

Retailers do this all the time for big shopping days like Black Friday. They will advertise some insanely low price like $400 for a TV that normally retails for $1200. Then when you show up, you find out they had set aside 2-3 for that price and they are long gone, now they have you in the store, enjoy shopping!

Thanks for recommending I call Cool Stuff. That's what I ended up doing and they said they would honor the original pre-order price of $16.99!! So, I guess I get to eat my cake too!

Don't mind playing less than MSRP, but I have a problem paying more. Especially if it were like EvT and was a lot more.

Understand card shops need to make money, but there's just something wrong in my mind about paying too much more for one of these.

I'm much more likely to visit and buy from a LGS that sticks to MSRP or deviates little form it over one that really blows it out the water like what happened with EvT.

Should note I'm a casual player who has no interests in tournaments, so I play on a budget.

Interesting. Though I suspect this may be a preorder thing. I know in the past I've seen them preorder X at Y. Then once those are gone, they may change price and sell Z more. So forth. Based on demand, the deck list, and how many they'll get.

The 16.99 price was likely the price when no one knew the list. They likely set a max they'd preoder at that price. Once the list came out, they probably adjusted how many they ordered and in turn adjusted their price. Considering MSRP, it was silly to preorder it below MSRP until the list comes out.

Worth calling. Had great customer service with Coolstuff the few times I've contacted them.

Have you considered posting this as a topic all its own on the retailer review forum? Might make for a good conversation there, too!

(I told this story on the forums already.) I pre-ordered mine as a set through Cool Stuff Inc at $31.99 well before the deck lists were out. When the deck lists came out on Thursday morning, I gave them a call because I wanted to just order 2 copies of War of Attrition at their pre-order price of $16.99 since I pretty much have the Rot Within deck. They told me that the dozen or so that they had that could be pre-ordered individually had already been sold earlier in the week. I was out of luck. Well, I checked their site later in the day, and now they had a bunch in stock and were selling them at $29.99. I've been contemplating what to do all weekend and I think I'm going to give them a call. I may not get anywhere, but I don't think they'll be getting any more of my business either. I feel like they lied to me. On the upside, I'm still getting the decks cheaper than usual.
