However, this could not be more incorrect. Even if you are out in the cold for just a few minutes, your feet can freeze quickly. Also, even if the temperatures are not that cold, they can still become damaged.

(no update for M12 yet, but not expecting any either)

While there are of course differences in our lists and approaches I find it interesting to see that we agree in a lot of ways. I've been advocating playing Mayael as a control deck for ages. My games often come down to drop some fat in one way or another, wait for them to overextend to deal with it, then blow things up. Repeat untill they run out of cards. Or, alternatively if they seem shy on mass removal themselves, just drop stuff through Mayael and run over them with all that fat, keeping the cards in hand as the backup plan (the game described in the post after the one I linked to would be a good sample).

In all a very good read!

One thing I did want to comment on is percentages of missing, in the article you say you like to play with around 25 fatties. Some time ago I've made an approximation of the chance of missing with Mayael, assuming a random deck: http://mtgcommander.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=194

Of course this will be much improved by top on the like, but I would not go below 25 myself. I'm actually playing a few additional top effects, crystal ball has been quite good and mirri's guile as well, while enlightened tutor can fetch them.

Otherwise I'm interested why you chose a few particular cards. I think the consensus in our discussions has been that drumhunter is too fragile and warp world is too unpredictable. Also, why go for normal wrath's when you could play cards that deal with indestructibles, like final judgment or even better, as it's so good at dealing with generals, hallowed burial. In my experience rout is my very best wrath effect as it's instant speed, but otherwise I go for the ones that blow up more, incidentally, any reason for not including oblivion stone? I'm also surprised not to see a command tower.
