Hi Tyler, thank you so much for the shoutout and for covering me this week! I spent all week at the hospital waiting for my wife to recover from labor. So as you can imagine, I was a bit distracted and I felt I would not have been able to submit a worthwhile article for the week.

That being said, I'm home now and I start Spring Break from school soon! Then I'll only (haha) have my full time job, a recovering wife, and a newborn to keep me busy. I should be back in action next week!

And with all this recent discussion on Legacy, I may be inclined to throw my hat into the ring and share my thoughts on the state of the format.

Yeah, mostly I think Ravages should have been in Juzam's place, with Juzam perhaps as a honorable mention, or somewhere in the text like you did with the Capture.

Good points Pi. In all fairness, Juzam shouldn’t have charted over the other P3K cards, since they’re all equally unplayed (save Raveges), but I felt like something was missing if I excluded him, especially for players unfamiliar with his steep tag. At the same time, it seemed that a list full of P3K cards would be too obvious. 🙂

Interesting read, but I am not sure why Juzam would chart, but not the expensive P3K cards that are not getting played in Legacy either. Ravages of War is sometimes played in White based Stax lists and a highly unpopular card in EDH, so its price should be Legacy based. Also note that Capture is rare and Recruiter is an uncommon at the very same price, which I guess is very much related to Legacy play for the Recruiter while Capture probably only sees play in EDH. You could say similar things about the Retainers.
