Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a
sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and
screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had
to tell someone!

In reply to JasonAlt. Agreed...there's a reason that Maverick basically the only non-blue top tier deck for such a long time. It's consistency is remarkable (gotta love GSZ) and it's creatures are very mana efficient. Though, switching to Punishing Maverick might be a better choice, because Deathrite is still a big annoyance when your over the top threat of choice is KOTR.

In reply to Jacob Hilty. That\'s why I advocate Maverick > Jund. Sure, Jund has discard and card advantage, but Combo can deal with that a lot easier than combo can deal with Hate bears and hate enchantments. Maverick had a pretty easy time dealing with combo before with all of its utility, and the punishing fire package helped it out a ton. If combo comes back, RUG Delver supplants Jund most likely since it has access to countermagic and Maverick does well in a field with RUG Delver. The meta keeps shifting and I\'m a big fan of it, frankly.

Love your articles, always a great read!! Just wanted to go on record as a total believer in Domri Rade. I’ve been on my soap box raving about him since the whole Craigslist debacle. In testing, he’s been a veritable Swiss Army knife of utility. The powers is there, but the versitality of the card is much more subtle (probably the reason many view him as garbage)… Anyways, thanks for the fun and informative material!!!

I can’t imagine that this Jund thing is going to last long, when people A) Realize everyone and there mom are playing do nothings like punishing fire and B) Notice the combo cards that they stopped playing months. The Legacy meta will be back to blue decks soon enough, but keep an eye out for all the Combo that is going to just wreck these totally fair decks.

My suggestion play Combo that doesn’t care too much about discard, i.e. is running brainstorm, you will not be dissapoint.

Well, apparently I should have been more worried when I thought I heard dice rattling outside my window. Hey at least I got my first ever mention in an article! Except it’s by Jason Alt, so that means by reading it I’m like 35% of the total audience.

Jokes aside, great article. I think my professor hates you (me, but I’m blaming you) now though, because this was really hard to read without laughing in class.

Yeah, I picked those up back when modern was initially announced, and they’re long gone to buylists back when they spiked around the first modern PT.
