Yeah!!!! Hopefully this whole Mana Bloom thing pays out. The risk is very low as long as you don’t buy 100’s of them. Opalescence is also very cheap, and there’s nothing wrong with that spec.

Lol probably. I sold my set already for a handy profit. No regrets – especially since I sold via not-eBay so I saved myself 10% in fees.

I missed the SDCC boat though, but this only means MOAR FTV

Will i be able to sell a crappy but beautiful Liliana for $100?

Thanks for the comment, Wes, glad the article was both informative and helpful!

I try my best to cover each format in one way or another. Sometimes there’s a format that deserves more attention during a given season (Modern will definitely get increased attention during Modern PTQ season). But when there’s no format to focus on in particular, it’s best to give readers a diverse set of ideas so that they can pick where they want to invest. It is best to focus on where you are comfortable and stick with a consistent strategy!

As someone who is new to the finance community and has been a way from Magic for awhile, it’s easier to pick up on the market trends in standard, so it’s always nice to see an article with stand tidbits thrown in.

And at $0.37 per card, if it gets any play at all you’ve got a great buy!

Jim,

I try to remind myself of this point on a regular basis. It’s so easy to give into all the hype. OMG, XYZ is going up in price, gotta buy now! You’d go broke trying to buy into every card every discussed. It’s best to focus on your priorities and make some concentrated, strategic investments. If you put heavier bets on the cards you like most for long term view, you’re more likely to meet your goals.

It’s all easier said than done, of course. Thanks for commenting!

So often, people feel like they have to be in on every spec/flip opportunity to be “doing it right”. I used to feel this way until I realized that you can still make money without having to be in on everything.
