Jason,

You mention: “I think anyone can sell with TCG Player but they have to jump through a ton of hoops, first.”

First, http://store.tcgplayer.com/help/sellwithtcgplayer

You may want to check it out as you seem unsure of how the system works at the same time. Our new FAQ should clarify things for you and also show that it takes about 5 minutes to create an account and only seconds to list items. If you have any further questions just send an email into sales@ and we will answer them for you!

I have taken the tactic of selling the “big” items there. (Sealed boxes, Duel Decks, etc.) I only sell singles on TCGplayer now. My inventory is not huge though, so I’m sure we are talking apples to oranges. (I’m a total noob on this website, so this my sound dumb but…) I have had really good transactions with ABU Games’ buylist too. They always pay the agreed upon price and fairly quickly too.

Good to know. That whole \”doesn\’t update in time\” concept matters a lot when a card spikes and there is a sudden run. Thanks for the heads up

I am glad my little article upset you enough that you logged in to complain. The stress from getting that upset has shortened your life ever so slightly. Words cannot express how much I love that I have the power to upset you and make ypu die sooner. You made my day, tough guy!

I have been buylisting mostly low end stuff since the high end stuff like what you need to get the site started sells in my case for retail. As you get bigger and your needs grow I will give you the first crack at everything. I have been spreading the good word about afc.

If you want some CC advice / walkthrough, you know how to reach me.

Also, Im kind of sad you havent approached me about selling anything. My buylist that I sent to you wasnt huge yet (its better now), but I can most likely match or beat a lot of stuff out there. And, Im willing to buy a lot of stuff though I didnt send it to you.

First of all, I think its awesome that you respond to your reader’s posts (all of them as far as I can tell). As a writer, I have a lot of respect for that. On the note of double listing on tcg and ebay via CC, I’d advise against it. I’ve heard about many bad experiences overselling cards because one or the other doesn’t update correctly. If you go this route, be diligent in making sure the listing is removed from the other site.

Interesting article. I think readers (myself included) enjoy reading about some of the day to day of finance people. It’s hard to understand what we do from their perspective sometimes because everyone’s finance game is different.

Finally, it’s great to know more about how awesome Reid is. I have so much respect for him.

Crystal Commerce is something I\’ve looked into. If I chopped the $500 buyin with someone else because you can have separate inventories, I might consider it. CC makes it so much easier to list things on eBay than it was before and lets me post the same item on TCG and eBay and see where it sells first. Lots of advantages. I\’ll think about it.

Makes me sad because I like them in person and get along well with their buyer, but they’ve screwed me through the mail before as well.

It seems like every 3-4 months eBay throws everyone curve balls and knocks us on our ass. I’m sure you’ve looked into CC, and maybe it’s not worth it for you depending on your inventory size, but they’ve edited their photos to fit the picture policy so if you want to stay with eBay you have that as a costly but effective option.

Thank you very much for this information! I’m still not sure what to do with the bulk… GPs in Canada are far form each other… we got GP Toronto in dec2012. GP Quebec February 2013 and Toronto again in November this year. not sure if i go (its sealed…) and Toronto is like 8-9 hours of driving for me :S when i checked during the 2 last GP i did in Canada, most of the stores were not even taking commons bulk. and the few Canadian stores were giving 2.5¢ per 100… at that price i almost think I’m better to give them to the kids. at least it help the “future” local community to growth. may i will try instant collection thing also or try harder find a store in my area that is willing to take the bulk at an acceptable price…

-I understand that the new “picture policy” could be troublesome for powersellers, but is it still a good outlet for casual traders like me? (Who can take pictures of their cards…)

That\’s up to you. Being ok with the picture policy doesn\’t prevent them from making a new change later that makes selling there untenable.

– When you were eBaying a lot did you used Auctions or BIN?

Exclusively BIN.

-what do you think of the new TGCplayers thing for smaller seller (people can now sell on TGCplayers)? Can I sell with that if I’m not a powerseller?

I think anyone can sell with TCG Player but they have to jump through a ton of hoops, first.

-Should I try online buylist of stores like you? I don’t think I have a huge volume compare to you I’m sure. And I’m Canadian I have to change the cash every time!

Buylisting online is great, but I would consider taking a lot of that stuff to a Canadian GP and outing it in person. If you can\’t wait, bidwicket and cardkingdom.com are good outs.

And another topic… what do you do with commons/uncos? I mean the total crap. I was storing them I my crap box. I used bunch of them to proxy my 3 gauntlets. (Legacy, Modern, t2) but after 7-8 deck in each format… I won’t need them anymore. I was into “give them to new kids players” for a while. But from a financial point of view it doesn’t seem like value and even the kids don’t want them at one point. I saw buylist at 5cents for 100 at one point (during a gp 2 years ago) but the best I see at the moment is 2.5cents for 100 at my LGSs. how to unload big bulk (10000+ bulk commons)?

To unload bulk, you need to find someone who wants it. Carter Hatfield, QS Insider and local store owner puts together \”instant collections\” and needs a lot of bulk so he\’s been buying mine. Troll and Toad has bought some in person from time to time as well. Bulk sells here for $5/1000 – 5 cents per 100 is miserable.

I’m local to them & they totally f’d over a buddy of mine who was selling them bulk.

He absolutely refuses to even talk to them now.

It’s rough because the guys running it are nice enough, but being shady is unacceptable.
