I have to respectfully disagree with you on this point. While commons aren’t the best target for Standard foils, people do foil out their standard decks. As a player who constantly grinds SCG standard IQs almost every serious grinder, at least in my area, foils out their deck. Most players that grind a lot aren’t switching decks everyweek. They’re honing their skill with one deck and hanging on to it. Hell, half the players I played at the Charlotte standard open had double sleeved decks just because of foils in their decks.

If I enter into any kind of trading at these events, players are always looking for two things. “A couple of foils to finish off my deck and modern stuff.”

Again, not saying Standard commons are the go to, but Standard foils are certainly a thing. At least in my area.
