I suppose I should’ve said “confirmed” reprint. 🙂

Aaron Forsythe has basically said that fetches will not be reprinted until 2015: http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/554589-aaron-forsythe-no-fetchlands-anytime-soon
I don’t think they’ll be in Khans. I think that 5 fetches will be put into the second large set of the block, presumably Dragons of Tarkir. I still have doubts about Onslaught fetches being put into standard/modern because they will radically change the modern landscape.
Still I agree that the time to sell fetches is now, if you’re gonna.

I always assumed that leak was legit LOL. I guess i missed that people called fake. In any event, yes I think this adds to the validity.

Tyler,

I really think we’re going to see Fetches in Khans. Even if we don’t, the remaining upside has to be tiny vs. the HUGE downside. So I agree with your assessment, though I still wonder if Onslaught Fetches are more likely. Onslaught is where Morph originally appeared, after all 🙂

Agree, Mana Confluence has significantly higher upside. But it could also just randomly not see a whole lot of play if the format doesn’t warrant the need. Also it could end up being like a 1-of or 2-of…I have to imagine it gets painful if you have multiples of these out in the early game.

I play Sapphire, but only because it’s the only one I own. If I randomly found a well-priced Ruby Medallion in someone’s trade binder I would have picked it up. But I don’t come across them much (nor do I trade nearly enough these days). But I just assume they make mono colored decks better because they continuously give you free mana.

We have 5 of the same cards with the same leaked art no less, I had a funny feeling that the leaked image may have been legit, anyone else’s spidey sense tingling, especially now?

Why not, what’s keeping Wizards from extending this to other product lines?

As well as stuff like Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, Nirkana Revenant, etc.

Mana Confluence has much lower supply than shocks since it’s not a reprint and it’s also in a 3rd set. It’s potential depends mostly on A. If there’s enough good cards in Khans to make people want to go tri-color (or 2 colors if your cards are heavy on colored mana of both colors, i.e. G/W) and B. If there are playable manafixing nonbasics in Khans.

Red + white + blue = Jeskai

Red + white + black = Mardu

Green + blue + black = Sultai

Blue + red + green = Temur

Black + white + green = Abzan

So these are more along the lines of “enemy” shards. Last time we saw them, it was Alara, with “friendly” shards.

The following block had friendly fetches.

Enemy shards… enemy fetches… hm. I know this speculation has been discussed before, but with the confirmation of enemy shared this weekend, seems the argument is gaining some ground.

I don’t think he’s playable either, but I’m excited by the fact that Dega might still be playable post-rotation. Before the announcement I thought it was losing too much (BBoV, Obzedat, Reckoner, Desecration Demon, Aurelia, Dreadbore, Lifebane, etc.)

The only one I’ve ever seen played is Sapphire Medallion, usually in some douchey combo deck like Azami, etc.

List and box image found here: http://www.wizards.com/magic/displaythemedeck.asp?set=chk&decknum=2

Although, these are Theme Decks, which means they aren’t facing a reprint anytime soon.

The lack of Evasion really hurts him and well he will be always chumpblocked by your opponent.

With a Wedge themed set i am more positive about Herald of Torment and maybe Pain seer (if you can get it on trades).

Maybe Ephara can be a decent spec too.

Curses, i need more spoilers!

I take it you guys know a lot of people who play them in EDH? I have at least 3 of each, but I’ve yet to see anyone besides myself play them…they are amazing in mono-colored EDH decks though (and not all that great in tri-color (which around here is the norm)).

I like to play with the first print with regular corners. I’ll be getting the WB P3K copies anyway, but if someone intends to buylist I might get them at a nice discount. I also have a thorough disliking of foils.

I still have my Diaochans and don’t regret getting them, was still cheaper than what she goes for now ;).
