I agree! The more people catch on, the opportunity will disappear. And I don’t think that’s a bad thing, it just means more people are realizing the benefits of a little knowledge.

I just want to point out that we should include this in our expectations.

We allready burned our fingers a few times in the therosblock when wotc was playing with switching booster payouts randomly (see forum :p), so I wouldn’t be surprised when they act against this too.

So too many buyers/sellers AND worc on the lookout, it’s wait and see.

I too made some ticks on this prereleasebooster phenomena, but i’m just hoping it wasn’t the last time…

(and i bought all the boosters i needed to play m15 for a year at 2.5)

1. Great article. Even if you don’t spend the whole weekend flipping boosters, it’s really great to know when to sell. I knew people playing 2-man when JOU boosters were <2 Tix. I taught them to wait for a better price before selling them.
"Smarter" players stopped playing 2-man because there was no profit, AT THAT TIME. But people forget to make the interpretation that you could sell your boosters later.
I bought a handfull of boosters during prerelease. Very small profit, but free tix = free tix.

2. I would be careful about the future. I've seen it before. It's like the shockland.
We figured out the pattern, everyone was communicating about it, we all bought shocks for certain profit. And afterwards, the expected bump didn't happen.
My interpretation of the shockland experience was that the information became so widespread that people were buying/keeping shocklands because it was too obvious they will be played next standard + modern. Everyone bought their playset early, and not many people wanted to sell them too cheap. So demand was higher than expected before the expected price bump, and demand during the expected bump was lower.
That's why prices stayed flat.
I think it's possible the same will happen with boosters. it's likely that price fluctuation will be more flat than expected.
This is very plausible because such an economy will eventually go to a balanced state were fluctuation decrease. Just like the expected crash during old client shut down didn't happen. If we all expect the fluctuation to happen, we adjust our strategy to it and balance out the fluctuation.

Anonther possibility is that WOTC will allow boosters to be used during prerelease. In that case, we will know before that weekend of course, and adjust our booster buying plan.

I hope every QS insider interested in MTGO speculating reads this. Khans pre releases should be an easy time to profit for those with some time and some tix.
