Heck, maybe they’ll make a FTV: Demons and everyone can speculate on Kaalia being in it again!

As right as you are, the bottom line is FTV is just product line to generate profit. The deeper the breadth of card pool to pull from, the higher the chance of increasing profit margin–without printing money for consumers. Ideally [for WoTC], for consumers and the survival of the product line is to print cards with value totaling MSRP +/- $5.00.

I hope I am completely wrong, as prior to Annihilation, the FTV’s brought value and investment worthy product. I have each FTV still unopened in its box–except Annihilation which I use as a shim to level my workbench. I maintain perception with the Set Release overhaul, and the way products (standard) are moving, WoTC is not concerned with providing value, as it is with selling product.

Valkyrie JUST saw a reprinting in MM, but I don’t suppose that is going to be an impediment if they really want it in the set. I think the $1-$3 angels may be the least interesting thing to speculate on, but I think they may jam a bunch of cheap angels just to get one of every color.

I really don’t think Kaalia will be in FTV: Angels though because if you read through their announcement of the set, they specifically state “This limited-edition box set contains fifteen Magic: The Gathering cards featuring a host of the most formidable winged warriors to ever grace the game.”

Ok ok, so I suppose Kaalia does appear to have wings. Maybe she does make it. But I took that to mean the set will contain 15 Angels.

I let that one slide because she would make sense in an Angel set anyway in a similar vein to Dragonstorm being in FtV: Dragons.

Your numbers are of course, accurate. But I wouldn’t say Chinese Starlit Angel sells all the time on eBay. I have a saved search for the card since it’s the only angel artwork I currently lack in my collection, and I remember seeing 1 sell in the past few months. Copies just don’t come onto the open market all that often.

And perhaps I’m a unique angel collector, but if they printed this particular Chinese Starlit Angel artwork in FTV:Angels, I’m getting one and calling the collection of unique Angel artworks “complete”. Don’t care if it’s not the right language or blah blah blah. For me, it’s about unique artworks.

Lastly, how funny would it be to completely get trolled by seeing Guiding Spirit or Gabriel Angelfire in the set? Hahahahahaha.
