I do like it eventually…but as you stated, 4 CMC is a bit slow. Utter End is an amazing removal spell in a Midrange/Control environment, when you can sacrifice efficiency for overall power level…but come rotation, I expect a lot of token and mono-red decks…and Utter End is pretty horendous in those matchups (heck….Hero’s Downfall is too and it’s cheaper)

David what do you think about utter end as a target? It seems like a perfect answer for hero’s downfall leaving the format and is currently at bulk prices. I think that 4 cmc may be a little slow but as of now, it seems that abzan will need this to compete post rotation.

Definitely a valid point. I did forget to check the precon deck lists to see if any of them were on there (though I wouldn’t go so far as to lump it in with uncommons…somewhere between regular rare and uncommon sure..but those precon decks do NOT sell at the LGS’s around me)

I can get behind Narset Transcendent later on, however, my focus was on decks that I think will be immediately good…and I honestly don’t feel like control decks will immediately be good at rotation..as they need time to figure out what the threats are so they can make sure to include the answers.
