If there’s a white allies deck they’ll play him, he also has the ability to just spam dudes in a control role. Anthems are great with Secure the Wastes. That’s the thing that they like most about him and something that I agree on, is that one of his best strengths is if you draw multiples and they’re surviving you can just sac the first one to make an anthem and play the second one.

I think we’ll be seeing a lot more Warden of the First Tree, and I imagine more Deathdealer as well.

I agree abzan will still be a tier 1 deck. Abzan charm is very flexible, and siege rhino wins games. The lose of bile blight and drown in sorrow will hurt, but I believe languish will start to see more play. Will rakshasa replace fleecemane?

Every article that I’ve seen about Gideon has hyped him a lot, and Flores and Chapin were huge on him on Top Level Podcast.

I appreciate the compliment, though I haven’t spent much time thinking about lists post-rotation outside of the fact that Abzan doesn’t lose much of anything. Abzan and Atarka Red will likely be the best performing week one decks of the new format based on what we know so far.

Nearly every article I read mentioned sarkhan and stoke the flames. I doubled up on my sets of sarkhan, but stoke was the home run. Do you believe Gideon will get that much hype?

You’re a great deck builder, and I’d really like to see an article exploring your thoughts on where the meta is going. Any chance of that?
