Tron is tough. Not going to lie. Open to suggestions here.
I haven’t done much work on the deck since I wrote this. I only played one other event and I swapped the Koths for two Pia and Kiran Nalaar. They are stellar. I also beefed up the sideboard with Shatterstorms.

I’ve heard from some other people playing this deck that it is performing well right now, but this is second hand information. A friend of mine is currently using this: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/robot-stompy/
Regarding Eldrazi: “bit of a toss up still. I think I may need more rituals. If I land blood moon, it’s great.”
He’s switching to 3 Koth/3Chandra. Sad to see Flamespeaker not in this list but with no equipment, his draw engine isn’t optimal in this kind of deck.
Not that it really matters since I expect Eldrazi to all but disappear pretty soon.
I’m pretty scared to see how the community reacts to the incoming bans. I’m sure many Twin players picked up Eldrazi for cheap (and they probably picked up twin after having their pod deck banned) and having your deck continuously banned is feels bad city.

Seems like it might be in a good place with twin ban, but in my testing, a white splash might be necessary?

So I played an 4 rounds FNM last night and went 2-2… beat Affinity and 8rack and lost to an Affinity and a Storm deck (I know, right?!). The Storm player went on to go 4-0, but the last match was a very close one, in which I drew Chalice too late.

I played 3 Vandalblast in the SB and they’re insane against Affinity, and easily castable… I lost the last game against the second Affinity player because I didn’t draw any of them.

I’m also rocking 2 Outpost Siege, but I might go up to 3. In grindier matches, that card is insane. Rabblemaster also closed me 2 games by himself, and I also rocked 4 Gathan Raiders, to better fight opposing Goyfs, even though I faced none.

Anyway, really, this deck has so many ways to go… more testing needs to be done.

Hi Pedro,

So happy you enjoy it!
I’m going to keep three Shattering Spree in the board for now and I’m also testing two Shatterstorm in the board at the risk of hitting my own artifacts for now. We’ll see how it goes, but I’m usually threatened very early against Affinity so I need to sweep asap.
I considered Rabblemaster. Let us know how it and Gang works out for you!
I’m trying two Pia and Kiran in the Koth slots today.
The Sword of War and Peace… If I thought running three was smart, I’d do it. It’s that good. You can try cutting it but it really does win turn 5-6 if you have it or the turn it does get drawn usually. Not sure what I would replace it with if you don’t have it or don’t want to run it. Alternative equipment could be Jitte to keep the board clear and with Flamespeaker double strike shenanigans it is almost as strong in regards to damage output.
Good luck!

Really enjoyed your deck, as I used to play Goblin Prison in Legacy and was looking for something fun to play in Modern.

How about Vandalblast SB against Affinity? Since you’ll be siding out Chalices anyway, and you have a ton of acceleration, it can be devastating, especially if you board in Trinispheres aswell.

Also, I’m going to try Goblin Rabblemasters instead of Korgan Dragonlord, alongside Instigator Gang. Those two are really fast game closers, which is what this deck needs. As for removal, I think I’ll try Roast or maybe Magma Jets for extra library manipulation. I’m also trying one Outpost Siege, for more CA.

I see the Sword played a huge part in your tournament, but do you think it could be excluded? Thanks!

Your win condition should be valid/relevant in situations where you don’t have your dream lock – since if you have a chalice on 1 and a blood moon locking them out you can win with a chimney imp.

Thanks Pete! Glad you’re enjoying the deck.
A primer is on the back burner and the sideboard is definitely not set in stone so I appreciate the input. I’m working in some number of Shatterstorm and Anger of the Gods.
I might have another update after GP Oakland.

Rough guide would be amazing.

I have been trying different things in place of koth – so far roast or pyroclasm seem to be my prefered option.

Although I agree that Flamespeaker can be fragile in a format filled with Abrupt Decay and Bolts, this deck is built to stop those answers (via Moon + Chalice on 1) so that Flamespeaker can shine. Assemble the lock, then go for the kill.

I know you lost the match anyways, but this doesn’t make any sense.

Inferno titan and stormbreath can be cast as early as turn 3 with a -2 from koth. With ritual spells, you can cast koth as early as turn 2. It is as explosive as it can get. Further thoughts is we can play wildfire as additional sweeper and more mana denial. Inferno titan and koth creature are not affected. Again turn 3 wildfire is possible.

Charlesching, thank you for your insights. It can’t be argued that the deck is in version 1 right now. Let’s take your suggestions and see if the deck can be made stronger. Your knowledge of Modern dwarfs mine and you make a lot of good points. I’m anxious to see what the future holds.
I made the choice to include the full 8 Moons because I feel that Modern is soft to Moon effects now so redundancy is important, especially when you may lose some to discard as you mentioned and which happened in my Round 1. The nonbasics help resolve Magus of the Moon and accelerate into broken first time plays respectively. The idea is to end the game before there is even a need to cast Stormbreath or Inferno Titan though those are both very appealing cards and were considered. If we include them, I agree that more removal and sweepers are necessary. We just want to be the faster clock.

Great points and a lot to be discussed!
