Hello! I am a poor kid and I’ve been slowly buying pieces for this deck (and asking for gifts…) for a bit now and have pretty much the whole deck now… except for Chalice….. So my question for you is what can I fill in for that slot until I suck it up and drop $200 bucks on that sucka? Right now I’ve been filling it up with warping wail and/or ancient stirrings.

In reply to Jordan Boisvert. I get that Vial isn't a Human haha. Just saying that Chalice in general is iffy because of Cavern. They also likely want it because they have more bad cards in the matchup than colorless does so it makes sense

It’s a somewhat different deck and I’m not speaking from personal experience but I’ve heard that the white versions of this deck use Chalice on the play against Humans to nab Vial and such. Might be something to consider, sure is iffy because of Cavern

In reply to Petyr92. Will do one eventually, but for now, aggressively mull to Mimic/Temple/TKS (ideally some combination of the three) or a turn 1 Chalice. Don't bother with the 2nd Surgical. 4th GQ is a fine call and you can even run a Tectonic Edge if you want. I'd cut a Grounds and a Blink, meta depending, or just run it in the board (Tec is obviously worse than GQ though).

Affinity is a MU I’ve been struggling with so I’m glad to have more thoughts on how to attack that deck, thanks very much!
Quick request, I’m currently in a Tron-heavy meta and I was wondering if either:
A. You can do as detailed a MU Guide for tron as you have Affinity & Humans in the future, or;
B. Recommend some SB changes or mainboard concessions. I’ve personally been running 4 GQs main and have been toying with adding another Surgical Extraction to ‘get’ their lands, but I think that might be too inconsistent.

These in-depth guides are well made. Thanks Jordan! In my LGS there are a lot of Counter Company decks. I feel the matchup is aweful. It doesn’t matter how hard I tried, my win rate against them must be 35%. The match feels like a race. I would appreciate a guide for this deck!
