The reason they changed the design from what I remember is because they were harder too read. The card’s name and card type were changed to be read inside their own box. With the old design being printed as alternate art, that’s not a problem anymore. Chalice of the Void in vintage design is really one of the most beautiful cards out there, especially since the art is already so iconic.
