Wow, wonder why they bumped the price to 250 and then dropped it back down to 200 again even though they never had any in stock. Weird.

Thanks for the trend!

Thanks, Slack, I really appreciate the kind words. This was one of my favorite articles to write thus far. What did you like about it?

Really? Wow, that's wild. I thought about starting up a collection of Two-Headed Giants. With such small quantities, only one person can collect a given Alpha Rare and that's really it. Once a person starts, a second person attempting to collect the same Alpha Rare will be largely shut out already.

To that end, I'm surprised there aren't more Alpha rares being collected. I call dibs on the Giant, you guys, please don't steal that one from me :-P. Though if you do, my 2 NM copies will shoot up in price…

I think his goal is to have 110, or exactly 10% of the entire print run.

I am sure they do, but at least to access the psa one you need to be a member. Psa only has a flat number where as bgs individually grades the different aspects of the card…corners, edges, centering, etc. it's basically impossible to get a 10 across the board. For non sports cards (and most cards in general) it seems like psa is the most widely used service. For awhile it was actually easier to get alpha cards than beta, but thats shifted in the last 7 or so years. Here's my unlimited collection I haven't worked on in a long while… .http://www.psacard.com/PSASETREGISTRY/publishedset.aspx?s=25387

Does something similar exist for BGS? I am told they tend to be more critical.

Psa 10 – 5
Psa 9 – 21
Psa 8 – 38
Just to give an idea of relative scarcity of conditions

He probably got in the 85th later.

Otherwise, not surprising as I knew this was coming, but nice read :).
