Courtesy of reader Matthias, fresh from Germany, is this off-the-wall combo deck.  It uses mana acceleration and Lim-Dul's Vault to fire off a Show and Tell and dump Dream Halls into play.  Using any colored card in your hand, you cast Conflux for free, tutoring up 2 Cruel Ultimatums and 3 Progenitus.  Use 2 of the Progentus to cast 2 Cruels, empty their hand, draw 6, and use one of the card you draw to stick Progenitus.  Pass the turn, untap, and kill them.   I haven't actually seen this in action, but from the list, this is the win that makes the most sense.

Show and Tell and Dream Halls have already seen some movement and are VERY hard to find online right now.  Bear in mind that the deck will be available on MTGO as soon as Urza's Saga hits shelves.  Conflux is a Mythic rare that's still dirt cheap all over, so grab a bunch and ride the lightning.

  1. I think you can also tutor up another conflux each time. That would lead to a chain of casting Conflux and bringing a Cruel Ultimatum/Bogardan Hellkite plus Card to discard with it.

  2. I don't understand the playset of Progenitus. Resilience against Sadistic Sacrament, maybe? I have no idea. With Dream Halls out, you can actually toss the Progenitus to play the Conflux, then fetch the same Progenitus along with another Conflux and three other cards. I'm not really sure why you'd need more than one Progenitus. They talked about this deck a while back on the mothership, but didn't give a decklist. The author of the article mentioned that they came up with it when Conflux came out and were going to run it at a big tourney in Europe somewhere (Berlin, maybe?) then audibled into a more reliable deck at the last minute.I can't help but wonder if Conflux will really see any movement. Even as a third-set mythic, I'd imagine they're much more readily available than the other cards, and any price change will be due to speculation.

  3. GregF: Thanks for the links! That is indeed the article I was thinking of, and it's obviously not the same decklist as the one above. As mchainmail explained, Progenitus' ability is a static ability granting a replacement effect — the card gets reshuffled when you discard it, instead of going to your graveyard, so it actually happens as part of your playing the spell via Dream Halls.I'm not too familiar with the Legacy tournament scene, but I know that at least some decks run Natural Order + Progenitus, so I'd imagine people have some ways to deal with it. I know that in Vintage, some people board Curfews in Oath of Druids to deal with Inkwell Leviathan, which is otherwise difficult to get rid of. I'd imagine it may serve the same role in Legacy, and there are probably other answers out there as well.
