Ever wanted to play red cards in your Phelddagrif deck? I’m not a big Commander player, so I’m not readily sure why you would want to, but now you can! Group hug style decks are fan favorites, and I’m sure there is a subset of players who are thrilled about Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis.
Personally I love the flavor text of this card, and it’s cool to see what Guardians of Meletis was referring to. It’s also very cool to see WotC continuing to promote inclusivity. In that respect, this card is a total home run.
This card definitely doesn’t have what it takes to see play in 60 card formats, though there should be few if any of that style of card in this product line. That said, this is definitely the sort of Commander that I would expect to regularly see carried as one of the many decks of entrenched Commander players.
Seeing as Phelddagrifs are very easy to come by, I don’t expect Kynaios and Tiro to be terribly expensive, though they seem like a fun Commander and they have a pretty irreplaceable effect. I would expect a similar price trajectory to Zedru, the Greathearted.
